After kicking off 25 for 25 in January, we continued the initiative in February with the help of our community.Through online nominations and conversations, one organization came to mind: Ronald McDonald House Southeastern MN & Western WI.Why We Chose Ronald McDonald HouseWhen a child needs specialized treatment, everything else in life can feel uncertain.Being close to medical care while staying together as a family shouldn’t add additional stress.

Ronald McDonald House helps remove those barriers by providing a place where families can stay, rest, and find support while their child receives care.Their mission centers on strengthening families and promoting healing, not only for the child receiving treatment, but for parents and siblings as well.It’s steady, compassionate work that meets families in the middle of difficult times.What They DoRonald McDonald House operates a 72-room House in Rochester, serving families whose children are receiving medical care in the area.By providing lodging near hospitals, they ease both financial and logistical burdens for families traveling for treatment.Beyond a place to sleep, they offer:The goal is to keep families close to each other and close to the care their child needs.

Every detail, from meals to community spaces, is designed to create a sense of comfort and stability during what can be an overwhelming time.It’s a home away from home when families need it most.How We Supported in FebruaryIn February, we had the opportunity to support Ronald McDonald House in two ways.First, we presented a monetary donation as part of our 25 for 25 initiative.We also volunteered by preparing, cooking, and serving a House meal, something our team has made a tradition each year.

This year, the menu had a variety of classic Minnesota hotdishes, mac & cheese, fruit, brownies, and Rice Krispies Treats.Sharing a meal is a simple act, but it carries real impact.For families spending long days at medical appointments, having dinner ready and a welcoming space to gather can mean more than words can express.Looking AheadFebruary was another reminder that meaningful impact often happens through steady, practical support.We’re thankful for the community members who nominated Ronald McDonald House and for the opportunity to serve alongside an organization that strengthens families every day.25 for 25 continues all year long, and we’re looking forward to highlighting more organizations making a difference in our area.
