I’m hoping it’s cloudy and he doesn’t see his shadow, so SPRING can arrive early this year! Spring is lovely with new life, sunshine, warmer weather, and it’s a great time for…cleaning! It can feel great to get your home clean and give it new life after a long winter and all of the indoor activity that it brings.I found a de-clutter challenge over on YouTube that has really been working for me.The YouTuber suggests tackling your challenge in one of several ways: Remove 10 items from your home per day.

This could mean big or little items, from any area.Set aside a specific time period per day to work on de-cluttering.Maybe an hour in the evening.

If you work from home, maybe try using your lunch break to sort through and get rid of items.Concentrate on one area at a time.For example, spend one week working in the living area, another in the kitchen, then bathrooms, etc.

I’ve been getting rid of 10 items per day.So far, I have tossed or donated almost 100 items from my home! It feels better already.Another advantage to getting rid of items you are no longer using is the opportunity to take a solid inventory of what you have left.

This is especially important since the holidays have just passed, and maybe you’ve added some high-value gadgets or appliances to your home.Taking an inventory of what you have will help you make sure that your property is adequately protected by your insurance policy.There are several ways you can create and maintain an inventory.

Using a video to document your items and their worth is a fairly simple method.If that doesn’t work for you, there are also mobile apps designed specifically for taking home inventory.If you prefer a more traditional method, take photos and create a spreadsheet that includes the description, serial number, and price.

Keeping receipts is also important, particularly for high-ticket items.Of course, you can keep the paper receipt, but having a photo backup never hurts.If you buy online, you will probably have a copy of the receipt in your email as well.
