
Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of the independent brokerage, has announced the hiring of David Baldwin who joins the company in London as a Senior Retrocession and Property Specialty broker.Baldwin brings over three decades of international reinsurance broking experience, with a career spanning the Lloyd’s and London markets, alongside expertise across a wide range of international territories.He began his broking career at WTW, where he spent more than 21 years, serving as an Executive Director, focusing on treaty broking for clients in Asia Pacific including Japan and Australia, between 1993 to 2015.He then joined Ed Broking in 2015, which was later integrated into Ardonagh Specialty, where he led the Non-Marine Reinsurance division as Managing Director.
Following the 2023 rebrand of Ardonagh’s reinsurance operations under Price Forbes Re, Baldwin became, Managing Director of Non-Marine Treaty Reinsurance at the company.Most recently, he worked as a freelance Senior Reinsurance Consultant at EIRS, a multi-specialist insurance broking and risk advisory firm, before making the move to Lockton Re.Matt Foreman, Head of Retrocession and Property Specialty, Lockton Re, commented on the appointment: “David is an excellent hire and a great fit for our exciting culture and dynamic way of working.
