Pillar Capital hires SS&C's Ken Mahadeo as VP, Operations

Pillar Capital Management Limited, the Bermuda-based specialist collateralized reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager, has hired former SS&C employee Ken Mahadeo as Vice President, Operations.Mahadeo is well-known across the insurance-linked securities sector, having worked in roles focused on investment fund operations, accounting and administration.For almost a decade, Mahadeo has been based in Bermuda with his focus being on hedge fund administration, which included a specialism in servicing ILS managers with fund administration offerings and operational support.Most recently, Mahadeo was the Head of Fund Administration, Bermuda at SS&C GlobeOp and spent almost seven years in the role, during which time he worked closely with ILS managers based on the island.

Prior to that, he spent three years working at Apex Fund Services as a Managing Director, also based in Bermuda and again interacting with the ILS investment management community.Mahadeo began his career in Bermuda working for ILS fund servicing and administration specialist Prime Management in 2004.Then moved to Canada from 2011 through 2016, again working in fund administration and accounting roles, before returning to Bermuda in 2016 for the Apex role.

He has a wealth of experience in assisting investment managers with the operational, administrative and accounting needs of their funds and is deeply familiar with the ILS asset class through his previous roles.Pillar Capital had around US $4.3 billion in assets under management as of the mid-point of 2025.The company built-out expertise operationally as it has grown, while also promoting from within.
