Echo Re hires Credit Suisse ILS' Hertelendy as new CUO

Echo Re, the Swiss reinsurance company and part of the the German DEVK Group, has announced the hiring of Paul Hertelendy, a well-known reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) specialist from his time at Credit Suisse, as its new Chief Underwriting Officer.as its Head of Reinsurance Investments and Deputy Head of Insurance Linked Strategies.He went on to become the ILS investment manager’s Chief Reinsurance Investment Officer at its Bermuda-based carrier Bernina Re Ltd.

Paul Hertelendy will join Echo Re on March 1st as its new Chief Underwriting Officer, succeeding Piotr Nowakowski who has been with Echo Re for 9 years and is leaving the company for a new opportunity.“We very much thank Piotr for his contribution to develop Echo Re’s Underwriting activities throughout the last few years and wish him all the best for his professional and private future,” explained Gilles Meyer, CEO of Echo Re.“At the same time, we are very pleased to welcome Paul Hertelendy as our future Chief Underwriting Officer who will join us on the 1st of March 2022.
