Insurance-linked securities (ILS) has been a growing area of focus for Schroders ever since the investment manager .Since then, Schroders has built-out an enlarged team in its ILS operations and grown the size of its funds under management, including having one of the larger UCITS catastrophe bond funds in the segment and also one of the larger life ILS fund strategies as well. These private asset classes continue to be a key strategic focus for Schroders and the company hopes that by bringing them under one brand it can leverage synergies and broaden investor access to some of the niches within the new Schroders Capital.
