King Ridge hires Khan as Partner, SVP, Head of Property Analytics and Research

King Ridge Capital Advisors LLC, a recently launched specialist insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager, has announced the hiring of former-PIMCO executive Shiraj Khan, who joins the company as Partner, Senior Vice President, and Head of Property Analytics and Research.Recall that, King Ridge Capital Advisors was launched last December as a new ILS investment manager by sector specialists Rick Pagnani and Vijay Manghnani, both of whom had worked at PIMCO when that giant asset manager established a dedicated unit focussed on the space.Now, the former-PIMCO ILS team is coming back together under King Ridge Capital, as Khan rejoins his former colleagues.Khan will oversee the King Ridge property analytics platform and be tasked with helping to drive strategy and innovation across its insurance-linked securities (ILS) portfolio.

He brings deep expertise in analytics-driven underwriting, catastrophe risk modeling, portfolio construction, and climate risk assessment to King Ridge.“Known for his strategic insight and innovative approach, he has consistently demonstrated a rare ability to identify gaps in risk understanding and transform them into actionable, market-leading underwriting solutions,” the company explained.While at PIMCO, Khan helped to enhance that firm’s risk analytics framework, through the development of proprietary research and tools that served to advance the underwriting of cat bonds and reinsurance transactions.
