In January, we officially kicked off our 25 for 25 initiative: a commitment to spotlight and donate $25,000 to Rochester organizations that are making a meaningful difference in our community in celebration of 25 years of service.Throughout 2026, we’ll share the stories of these organizations and invite our community to come alongside us.Before opening up our community nomination form, we began this journey with an organization whose mission reflects care, dignity, and practical support: The Landing MN.Why We Selected The Landing MN to Start the YearWe chose The Landing MN as our first recipient because of the compassionate work they do for those experiencing homelessness.We have also supported their mission through past donation drives.The start of a new year often represents fresh beginnings.

For many young people facing housing instability, however, stability can feel out of reach.The Landing exists to bridge that gap, offering not just immediate resources but connection, support, and pathways forward.Their approach is rooted in dignity.They meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they move toward housing and long-term stability.

Beginning 25 for 25 with their work felt like a meaningful way to ground this initiative in real, community-centered impact.The Landing’s MissionThe Landing MN serves those experiencing homelessness, providing a safe, welcoming daytime space where they can access essential resources and supportive services.They offer:Beyond meeting immediate needs, their team focuses on building relationships, which often creates trust and opportunities for their clients.For many, The Landing becomes a critical step toward stability, independence, and a stronger future.January Donation DriveIn January, we invited our community to participate in a donation drive to support The Landing MN’s most immediate needs.From boxes of food to winter essentials, the response was encouraging.It was a reminder that when people are given a clear opportunity to show up, they do.Donation Drop-OffWe had the opportunity to deliver the collected donations and present a financial contribution to support The Landing’s ongoing work.Seeing the space, meeting members of their team, and learning more about the day-to-day impact of their services reinforced why this work matters.
