TigerRisk hires Lawrence Po-Ba for Lloyd's capital & investment focus

TigerRisk Partners LLC, the global risk, capital and reinsurance brokerage and advisory, has announced the hiring of experienced London reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) market executive Lawrence Po-Ba.Po-Ba was most recently an employee of London headquartered ILS fund manager Securis Investment Partners LLP, where he had a focus on helping the investment manager deploy capital into the Lloyd’s of London insurance and reinsurance marketplace.Po-Ba joins TigerRisk in a role focused on capital solutions for Lloyd’s Syndicates, where his experience of bringing investment and third-party investors to the London insurance market will prove valuable.He will be based at the TigerRisk London office.Alex Bridges, TigerRisk’s head of retrocession commented on the hire, “Lawrence joins us at an opportune time in the market where his skill set and relationships will be of paramount importance to our clients as they begin to plan their capital requirements for 2021 and beyond.We are delighted to add Lawrence to the Tiger team.”Po-Ba was held the role of Head of Lloyd’s Specialty Lines and was also a Partner at Securis Investment Partners LLP, working on portfolio construction management of capital solutions for Lloyd’s syndicates and managing Fund’s at Lloyd’s for the investment manager.His work at Securis helped the manager bring third-party investor capital into the Lloyd’s world to directly back certain syndicates books of underwriting business, with the returns being delivered to various Securis investment funds.Before his time at Securis, Po-Ba worked as the Lloyd’s Client Manager for SCOR, managing the reinsurance giants corporate member at Lloyd’s, as well as underwriting structured reinsurance.Po-Ba also worked for reinsurance firm Swiss Re, broker unit Aon Risk Consultants and reinsurer Hannover Re during his career.——————————————————————— of relevance to the insurance-linked securities (ILS), catastrophe bond and reinsurance capital markets.Read Covid-19 coronavirus related news & analysis .
