One William Street Capital Management, L.P., a New York headquartered alternative asset manager and registered investment adviser with over $5 billion under management, has hired Christos Vlachos as VP Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS).Vlachos was most recently working at catastrophe risk modelling specialist AIR Worldwide, part of the Verisk group of companies.At AIR Worldwide, Vlachos was a Risk Consultant focused on helping the risk modellers clients in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market.Prior to becoming a Risk Consultant focused on ILS at AIR, Vlachos worked at the risk modeller as an earthquake research engineer, focused on the firms quake models.

Vlachos joined One William Street Capital Management this month and will help the investment manager to expand its insurance-linked securities (ILS) practice, we have learned.One William Street Capital Management is largely focused on asset-based credit investments, with its portfolios weighted towards classes such as residential mortgage-backed securities and commercial mortgage-backed securities, non-performing or performing loans, consumer and commercial asset-backed securities.However, the investment manager and RIA allocates across a much broader range of assets than that and its portfolios are well-diversified into securitized instruments across other structured credit and structured finance securities classes, including insurance-linked securities (ILS) and related reinsurance-linked investments.
