Reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Ben Lyon as Head of Capital Advisory in London, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gallagher Securities Limited, the UK-based entity of the firm’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) and capital markets broker-dealer division.Lyon’s appointment is subject to regulatory approval.Lyon brings a wealth of legal and transactional experience to Gallagher Re, most recently serving as counsel at international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates, where he advised on complex insurance and asset management-related matters.His expertise spans public and private mergers & acquisition (M&A), reinsurance transactions, regulatory investigations, capital markets activity, and corporate governance across the UK and international markets.
