Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, the Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance group, has made a key appointment in hiring Bill Miller from KPMG to become its Group Chief Actuarial Officer.Miller is a Managing Director at KPMG in Bermuda and has been integral to driving the growth of the firm’s insurance and reinsurance activities on the island.This has included building out an insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused practice at KPMG, assisting ILS fund managers and reinsurers managing third-party reinsurance capital for institutional investors with a range of actuarial and consulting services.Before joining KPMG in 2014, Miller worked at ACE in Bermuda, which became part of Chubb, spending 12 years there and becoming Chief Actuary for its Risk Management & Foreign Casualty divisions.

His actuarial career spans 35 years in the non-life sector, including roles at Travelers, NCCI, Reliance National and at Willis Towers Watson working as a senior consultant actuary.Subject to approvals, Miller will join Aspen as Group Chief Actuarial Officer, effective July 1 2021 and will report into Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Cloutier, taking responsibility for overseeing Aspen’s core actuarial services.Miller commented on his hire, “It is tremendously exciting to join the Aspen team at this stage in its journey.
