Ariel Re, the Bermuda-headquartered international reinsurance company, has hired Apryle Oswald to the newly created role of Chief Analytics Officer.Oswald had spent the last eight years working as a Portfolio Manager at the largest insurance-linked securities (ILS) asset manager, Nephila Capital.Oswald now joins Ariel Re from December 20th 2021 and will be based in the firm’s Bermuda office.The new position at Ariel Re will put Oswald in charge of a team responsible for providing the reinsurance the firm with advanced analytics to support its underwriting capabilities.

Oswald will also assist Ariel Re by supporting the reinsurers’ global data management and governance, research and develop new data analytics capabilities and expanding its current analytics abilities.It’s expected to be achieved by leveraging Ariel Re’s proprietary, portfolio software system to service its clients, regulators and investors.Oswald served as Portfolio Manager at Nephila Capital for 8 years, before which she spent 7 years with RenaissanceRe as a Vice President, Underwriting.
