AXA Investment Managers hires new ILS Portfolio Manager from MS Amlin

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has added a new portfolio manager to its insurance-linked securities investment team, with Jeevan Singh Upaul joining the company from his most recent role at re/insurer MS Amlin.AXA Investment Managers operates a range of ILS investment fund strategies out of Paris, with the unit sitting as part of the wider AXA IM Alts Alternative Credit platform.As of March 31st 2025, the AXA IM insurance-linked securities team managed over $1 billion of third-party assets.The firm’s UCITS catastrophe bond fund strategy, the AXA IM WAVe Cat Bonds fund, has reached almost $400 million of assets by this month.

The company has been growing its cat bond and ILS assets under management over the last few years and expanding the team now seems to be in focus.AXA IM has hired Jeevan Singh Upaul who starts at the company as an ILS Portfolio Manager this month.He brings actuarial experience gained through roles within the insurance and reinsurance sector, having worked on both the broking and underwriting sides of the market.
