TigerRisk Partners LLC, the global risk, capital and reinsurance brokerage and advisory, has made a new capital markets and investment banking focused hire in Tanner Sowa, who joins the firm from Guy Carpenter’s GC Securities.Sowa joins TigerRisk as an Investment Banking Associate, a position that will see him working with capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS) related initiatives, as well as other investment banking activities for the reinsurance sector.Sowa had been working at GC Securities, the investment banking and ILS arm of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, since 2018.At GC Securities, Sowa had worked on reinsurance capital markets and investment banking related initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions M&A, capital raising, and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

When leaving GC Securities recently, Sowa held the role of Investment Banking Associate.Sowa began his career in late 2014 at Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance firm Aspen, working as a catastrophe modeller.He later worked in the surety and treaty reinsurance underwriting departments at Aspen, before departing the underwriting company for the broking side of the business at GC Securities in 2018.
