John W.Rollins, a consultant actuary with experience in both insurance-linked securities (ILS) and traditional reinsurance gained through a distinguished career, is to join Florida primary insurance carrier Olympus Insurance Company as its new CFO.Rollins had previously been the Chief Risk Officer of Florida’s Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, a role that saw him co-managing a $4 billion program of reinsurance and catastrophe bonds.In his time at Florida Citizens, Rollins worked on the placement of the largest catastrophe bond every issued, the $1.5 billion transaction.

Rollins joins Olympus on October 19th as its CFO, bringing 30 years of property-casualty actuarial experience, the last 21 years of which has been in the Florida market.Most recently, Rollins worked as a Principal and Consulting Actuary at Milliman, Inc., helping them establish a Property & Casualty office in Tampa, Florida as they targeted the coastal carrier marketplace.His experience in reinsurance program construction, alongside his actuarial and broader financial expertise will benefit Olympus as it seeks to grow in the wind-exposed Florida marketplace and beyond.
