Leadenhall Capital Partners, the London headquartered specialist insurance linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance related investments manager, has hired Brian Hickey as a Senior Managing Director, within its Business Development team, bringing onboard another specialist in capital formation and investor relations for alternative investments.Hickey has worked at numerous specialist capital markets and alternative investment firms during his career, including time spent at another insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund manager.Hickey is based in the United States and over his thirty year career has worked in business development, investor relations and capital formation across many alternative asset classes, including an ILS fund raising focus.His career began with an eleven year stint as a Partner in Marketing and Business Development at registered investment advisor Clinton Group.

Hickey then worked at Citi as a Director in the Alternative Distribution Group, then at Tudor Investment Corp.in Product Development and Investor Relations.In 2011, Hickey joined Deutsche Asset Management as a Director and alternative investment specialist, before then moving on to work at ILS specialist manager Pillar Capital Management in Bermuda as Global Head of Business Development and Investor Relations.

Hickey then moved back to the US and worked at Advent Capital Management as a Managing Director, before taking a role at Brookfield Asset Management as an SVP in Client Relationship Management in the Private Funds Group.His most recent role, prior to joining Leadenhall Capital Partners, was as Managing Director for Capital Formation at venture and private equity specialist AE Industrial Partners LP.According to his LinkedIn profile, Hickey joined Leadenhall Capital Partners this month, as a Senior Managing Director.

In his new role, Hickey will lead fundraising efforts across North America, reporting to Lorenzo Volpi, Managing Partner and Deputy CEO.Additionally, this position will also see Hickey work alongside with Brian Weatherholtz, Managing Director, Leadenhall Capital Partners US, to enhance Leadenhall’s market penetration and client coverage throughout the North America region.With his significant investor relations and capital formation specialism and deep institutional contacts, Hickey will bring additional expertise to the Leadenhall business development operation.
