Juniper Re expands Mory Katz role to Head of ILS Casualty and Legacy

Juniper Re, the specialist reinsurance broking arm of The Baldwin Group, has expanded the role of 35-year insurance veteran Mory Katz to Head of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) Casualty and Legacy.Katz joined the firm at the start of 2025 as a Senior Broker and Head of the firm’s legacy practice.In his expanded role, Katz will continue to lead the firm’s legacy capabilities, while taking on responsibilities within ILS Casualty too.Prior to joining Juniper Re, Katz spent over four years at specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group, where he served as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Legacy Solutions.

In this role, he worked closely with BMS’s reinsurance arm to help build, grow and lead the firm’s legacy practice, as well as assisting existing and new clients globally with legacy transactions.Before he joined BMS, Katz was Managing Director at Pro Global Holdings Ltd., a role he held for over five years, leading the company’s US operations and business development.Katz was also the CEO of the company’s two US subsidiaries, ProTucket Insurance Company and Pro MGA Solutions Inc.

Between 1993 and 2014, Katz held a number of senior positions at various firms, including Equifax, Verisk, Direct Response Corporation and Trans Union.In a LinkedIn post, Katz said, “I am pleased to share that my role at Juniper Re has been expanded to Head of ILS Casualty and Legacy.This change reflects the increasing significance of ILS Casualty and the convergence of prospective reinsurance with retrospective solutions.
